having just finished a year as an arts intern, here’s my top 19 tips. I’ll go into each with a blog post a bit later, but I’ll leave these here and drop the mic.

1. get used to doing the dishes.
2. life is too short to be awkward.
3. get yourself a notebook.
4. watch where you’re driving.
5. sometimes it’s enough to just exist.
6. assume the best, prepare for the worst, but really, truly, just ask.
7. look in the mirror
8. use your “no”s sparingly and your “yes”s wisely.
9. you’re always a student.
10. learn to take the compliment.
11. show up with as much of your best as you can.
12. figure out the printer.
13. don’t panic, you’ll be back.
14. diversify income and explore opportunities.
15. to everything there is a season.
16. find your anchors.
17. don’t believe the hustle or the ladder. your pace is your own.
18. you get out what you put in.
19. don’t be afraid of the schedule.
